THIRD THURSDAY - Glens Falls Art Walk
< GO BACK
Peter Nettleton
Artist Bio
Born and raised in Hudson Falls, New York. BS in History from Boston University. Photography has been a part of Peter's life since the age of six when his grandparent's 50th anniversary party provided an opportunity to document the occasion. The result, an album full of Polaroids from a child's perspective. This love would stay dormant until one day in 2004 when he discovered his grandfather's Minolta in a closet. Just one roll was all it took to convince Peter that photography was a new outlet in his life. He realized that it could be something more than a hobby; and in fact it became a passion.
Peter's primary focus is on portraiture and wedding photography, however this exhibit explores his work dealing with American Landscape. Each work is not only a study of light, color, and geometry but also a record of the various stills of local life. The images concentrate on isolation in otherwise populated areas.
You can see more of Peter's photography in the spring 2009 issue of Saratoga Living and on the cover of poet Mark Devit’s latest printing of “I Make Stuff Up”.
