THIRD THURSDAY - Glens Falls Art Walk
< GO BACK
AUGUST 2009
The Third Thursday Art Walk is proud to present the 4th Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art celebration! Come see artworks created LIVE on the Plaza at the Lapham Gallery at LARAC. Follow the alley next to the Wood Theater to the plaza at LARAC. This year the Art Walk is proud to include Emily Thomson, Zack Zoll, Rachel Maneely and the members of the Crandall Library Teen Group, among others, in this unique event. Enjoy live music with talented local pianist Mark Orlosky, and hot dogs from Hot Dog Heaven.
Café Cabaret, located at 7 Broad St., will be hosting the GF Community Theatres Experimental Theater Company (etc) as they perform My First Time. The show features hysterical and heartbreaking stories about first sexual experiences written by real people. In 1998, a decade before blogging began, a website was created that allowed people to anonymously share their own true stories about their First Times. Over 40,000 stories poured in, and now, these true stories and all of the unique characters in them are brought to life by actors in this acclaimed play from Ken Davenport, producer of Altar Boyz. Performance begins at 8 pm.
Also at Café Cabaret
Randy Girard will perform works from The Wastelandic Underground. Percussionist Steve Babson will accompany Mr. Girard as guest musician. The Wastelandic Underground is an evolving and original project incorporating the genres of spoken word, music, and installation sculpture. Performances at 5:30 and 6:30.
